Seminars, Lectures, & Workshops

Monthly Seminars

CBDMH hosts a monthly seminar at UCLA during the academic year. The seminar features leading researchers who are interested in the intersections between culture, brain, development, and mental health, and who typically present works-in-progress. The seminar offers attendees an opportunity to engage in lively and challenging interdisciplinary discussions.

Topics cover themes that cut across three disciplines (anthropology, neuroscience, and psychiatry), challenging our audiences to bridge diverse fields. Presentations are aimed at a professional audience of faculty and advanced graduate students in the neurosciences, social sciences, and humanities.

In addition, the program hosts a more formal gathering featuring a special guest lecturer in the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.
